History & SN Profile
View Global History and Serial Number Profiles
StageReturn provides a global overview of incidents, missing equipment and partial returns, then allows you to retrieve the complete history of an item using its serial number.
In This Guide
- Understand the History page
- View recent incidents
- Track missing equipment and partial returns
- Access Serial Number Profiles
- Understand automatic profile creation
- View the complete history of an equipment item
- Rename equipment profiles
- Use serial number scanning
1. Understanding the History Page
The History page provides an overview of the latest events recorded in the currently viewed warehouse. It displays incidents, missing equipment and partial returns, with the most recent items shown at the top of the list.
Example :
A manager opens the History page of their Rennes warehouse to check which items are still missing or only partially returned. This allows them to quickly monitor the status of all projects in that warehouse without opening them one by one.
2. View Recent Incidents
The History page allows you to quickly find incidents reported in projects: equipment name, serial number when provided, related project, client, photos, description and report date.
Example :
A piece of equipment is reported as damaged on a project. A few days later, the manager finds the incident in the History page, even without immediately knowing the original project.
3. Track Missing Equipment and Partial Returns
Missing equipment remains visible in the History page so you can track what has not yet been returned. When part of the equipment is returned, partial returns help maintain a clear view of what still needs to be recovered.
Example :
10 cables are reported missing during a return. A few days later, 7 cables are returned. The History page quickly shows that 3 cables still need to be recovered.
4. Access the SN Profile
The SN Profile page allows you to search for equipment using its serial number. You can enter the number manually or use scanning when the equipment has a barcode or QR code.
Example :
A technician receives a machine back. They scan its serial number and immediately find incidents that have already been recorded for that equipment.
5. Understanding Serial Number Profiles
When a serial number is entered in StageReturn for the first time, an SN Profile is automatically created. This profile centralizes information and history related to that equipment within the relevant warehouse.
Example :
A user reports an incident for the first time on serial number
SN-45896. StageReturn automatically creates a profile linked to that serial number to make future searches easier.
6. View the Complete History of Equipment
From the SN Profile, you can review incidents linked to a piece of equipment: associated projects, related clients, descriptions, photos, dates and information recorded during previous reports.
Example :
Before attributing a scratch to the latest client, the team checks the SN Profile. They discover that the same damage had already been recorded during a previous project, supported by photos.
7. Rename Equipment
An equipment name in the SN Profile can be edited. This makes it possible to correct an initial approximate entry and improve future automatic suggestions when the same serial number is reused in a report.
Example :
A user first enters "Blue Machine" during an incident. Later, a manager renames the SN Profile to "Atlas Copco QAS 40 Generator". Future reports linked to that serial number will be easier to identify.
8. Use Serial Number Scanning
Scanning helps prevent data entry errors and saves time in the field. When a barcode or QR code is present on the equipment, it can be scanned to access its history more quickly.
Example :
In a large equipment inventory, a technician scans an equipment label directly to access its SN Profile without manually entering the number.
Best Practices
- Enter a serial number as soon as it is available.
- Use scanning to avoid data entry errors.
- Check the History page to track equipment that is still missing.
- Review the SN Profile before assigning damage to a client.
- Rename profiles when the equipment name is too vague.
- Use photos and descriptions to keep clear evidence.
