Members & Permissions
Manage Users, Roles, and Administration
StageReturn allows you to invite team members, assign roles, restrict warehouse access, and control which features are available through the administration panel.
In This Guide
- Invite a Team Member
- Manage Users
- Create Custom Roles
- Assign Permissions
- Assign Warehouse Access
- Understand the Administration Panel
1. Invite a Team Member
An administrator can invite a team member using an invitation code. The member enters this code during registration or login to join the existing company.
Example :
A manager invites a technician using a temporary code. Once the code is used, the technician joins the company and can then be assigned an appropriate role and access permissions.
2. Manage Users
User management allows you to view company members, change their roles, and control their warehouse access.
Example :
A new employee joins the team. The administrator assigns them the "Technician" role and grants access only to the warehouse where they work.
3. Create Custom Roles
StageReturn allows you to create roles tailored to your organization. Each role can contain a specific set of permissions based on the user's responsibilities.
Example :
A company creates a "Warehouse Manager" role that can manage projects, view defects, generate PDF reports, and access certain settings without having full administrative privileges.
4. Assign Permissions
Permissions allow you to precisely control what a user can do: create a project, modify equipment, delete data, manage categories, access APIs, manage PDFs, or administer members.
Example :
A technician may be allowed to create defects and add photos, but not be allowed to delete a project or modify other members' roles.
5. Assign Warehouse Access
In addition to roles, StageReturn allows you to restrict which warehouses each user can see. A member may have an active role but only see the warehouses they are authorized to access.
Example :
A team based in Paris can only see the Paris warehouse, while a national manager can access the Paris, Rennes, and Lyon warehouses.
6. Understanding the Administration Panel
The administration panel contains the company’s key settings. Depending on assigned permissions, a user may or may not have access to certain sections.
Administration may include managing members, roles, warehouses, categories, PDF templates, API keys, and ERP integrations.
Example :
A user authorized to manage APIs can access the API & Integrations section, while another user may only manage projects and field defects.
Best Practices
- Grant only the permissions required for each role.
- Create simple and easy-to-understand roles.
- Restrict warehouse access to only the relevant locations.
- Reserve sensitive functions for managers or administrators.
- Regularly review member roles and access permissions.
Next Step
Once your members and permissions are configured, you can start using StageReturn projects, defects, evidence records, and reports.
